If I Loved You As I Should
How often do we pause to notice the inner dialogue we carry within ourselves? It is a constant conversation, often marked by criticism, unkindness, and judgment, particularly when directed towards our body.
This project delves into the nature of this internal voice, especially about our body. It seeks to quiet the noise of negativity in our minds and replace it with affirmations of acceptance, gratitude, and admiration for our most sacred and only true home - our body.
When I hold a flower, I am captivated by its beauty, embracing each petal and finding charm in its imperfections. In its uniqueness, I see a flawless creation of nature. Similarly, our bodies are akin to the flowers. They possess their individuality within their imperfections, yet they remain perfect nonetheless.
'If I loved you as I should' is essentially a deeply personal letter addressed to my body. It's a collection of the words I know I should say to myself more often, words of kindness and appreciation that usually go unspoken. It serves as both a reminder to myself and an open invitation to others to extend kindness towards themselves and their body.
This project is dedicated to my daughters and the beautiful women they will one day become. It hopes to instil a legacy of self-love, acceptance, and compassion for generations to come.
